Visit the Féria des Vendanges
While visiting Benvengudo Hotel, why not take time out to visit the Feria des Vendanges festival. The Feria des Vendanges is a popular festival that celebrates the regions wine making traditions.
The Wine Harvest Feria
The Wine Harvest Feria is the little sister of the Pentecost Feria, which takes place in May. It began in 1980 and takes place every third Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September in Nimes. This year, the Wine Harvest Feria takes place from Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September 2014.
Nimes and the surrounding region are home to a number of vineyards all of which produce quality wines: cépage wines, vins de pays and AOC. The harvest ends in late September. The grapes are pressed and the wine begins its slow process of fermentation.
The Wine Harvest Feria has its roots in the town of Nimes, where the people decided to organise a local Feria that would be as lively and enjoyable as the main Pentecost Feria, but solely dedicated to celebrating the end of the wine harvest by drinking good wine with friends, family and visitors.
